The
mission of the HAVE A HEART ADOPT A PET FOUNDATION INC. is national in
scope but is designed to function on the community level. The
Foundation’s programs will have direct impact in saving the lives of
lost, homeless, abandoned and abused sheltered pets that are needlessly
euthanized. The Foundation will focus on educating, encouraging and
supporting the adoption of sheltered pets through public-private
partnership. This unique alliance of local government, community
residents, schools and concerned businesses will seek to abolish the use
of animal sheltering as a means to the end of so many precious lives.
The Foundation’s programs will be replicable and can therefore, be used
to produce systematic change nationwide.
Many people do not understand that local animal shelters are viable
alternatives to dogs that are bred for sale, and for this reason it is
necessary to bring the existence of such institutions into the public
view. Public education will be concentrated at the elementary and
secondary school levels and through direct public awareness. Areas of
education will include the social and health benefits of pets and the
social and economic benefits of pet adoption. Other educational areas
will include fostering our responsibility as caregivers of all life, in
addition to the need for spaying, neutering, shelter awareness, and the
humane treatment of all animals, domestic or wild, and finally, to teach
how rare, precious and fragile life truly is.
HAVE A HEART ADOPT A PET FOUNDATION INC. will continually strive to
create new and imaginative programs including its alternative to animal
sheltering:

TM
The Foundation’s fundraising will be by a volunteer committee through
selective mailings to government, foundations, businesses, and
individuals.
The Foundation will request that all program
participants are rewarded for their efforts, and grants will be awarded
to animal rights groups and community service organizations assisting in
animal adoptions based on their success. Shelters will be monitored,
graded, and rewarded for their participation.
Our Formula for
Success is:
Problem Identification +
Research + Planning + Final Design + Implementation = Successful Project
